Nordic Walking for young and old


Dear friends of Rügen!

"Nordic Walking" - another trendy name! We could just as easily say "walking with walking sticks".

But it is not quite that simple. Nordic Walking is a sport. And just like any other sport, Nordic Walking has to be learned. Because the right technique for handling the poles, walking speed, terrain and duration are important. Just like the right equipment and the right preparation.

Only then will you enjoy the exercise and only then will it actually be good for your health.


 
How does Nordic Walking promote health?


With the right technique, Nordic Walking uses about twice as much energy as walking without poles. The sweeping movement strengthens the heart and circulation, stimulates the metabolism, strengthens muscles and bones and helps you lose weight. Swinging the poles back and forth also strengthens the arms, shoulders and back.

Exercise in intact nature also helps with depression. Especially in winter, Nordic Walking is therefore a particularly healthy sport - for body and soul. And you can do it all year round and everywhere!


You are never too old for Nordic Walking!


Even in retirement you can still become an athlete! As a gentle endurance sport, Nordic Walking is ideally suited for this. It reduces the risk of numerous age-related ailments such as diabetes, osteoporosis, high blood pressure and back pain. The best thing is to have the right technique explained to you first.
