The lighthouses by Schinkel

Among the frequently visited sights of Rügen and Cape Arkona are two lighthouses, the smaller of which was built in 1826/27 according to plans by Karl Friedrich Schinkel. Cape Arkona is also home to a former naval bearing tower, remains of the Slavic Jaromarsburg, the Königstreppe (King's Staircase) and two former military bunkers of the GDR People's Navy, as well as the Rügenhof (Rügen Farm), which offers a wide range of activities such as stone cutting, candle making and much more.
